Drag the devices from the inventory into their correct positions. Then select each placed device to configure it. Mouse, touch, and keyboard users can also select a device and then select its destination slot.
1. Assemble the system
The generator sends RTP video/audio to the switch. The analyzer receives the multicast and supplies SDI to the display. The grandmaster and controller connect to the fabric separately.
2. Establish timing
Enable the grandmaster reference. Use the SMPTE ST 2059-2 PTP profile and the same domain on the source, switch, and analyzer. The lab supports domain values 0–127.
3. Configure the network
Give each IP device a unique usable address in one common subnet. Use one media VLAN (2–4094). This single-switch lab requires IGMPv3 snooping, an enabled querier, and 10 or 25 Gb/s links. PTP uses boundary or transparent clock mode; enable timing QoS.
4. Configure essence
Send 1920×1080p50, YCbCr 4:2:2, 10-bit ST 2110-20 video. Select a narrow sender profile (N). This receiver is a synchronous N-type receiver. Use separate multicast groups and even RTP ports for video and ST 2110-30 PCM audio (48 kHz, 2 channels, 1 ms).
5. Subscribe and validate
Match the analyzer’s source IP filter, multicast groups, ports, payload types, video format and PTP domain to the sender. Activate the subscription and SDI output. Select SDI on the monitor.
In NMOS mode, enable IS-04 registration on source and receiver, and IS-04 / IS-05 services on the controller. In manual mode, enter the transport parameters directly; NMOS configuration is optional.
This is a teaching model with simulated status and simplified switch/timing rules. “VALID BARS” means these lab checks pass. It does not certify ST 2110-21 packet timing, PTP accuracy, EBU LIST compliance, or any real hardware.
Optional sample plan
The Get a hint button on each device provides compatible values. You can choose your own IP subnet, VLAN, PTP domain, multicast groups, and RTP ports.
